Lesley Pritikin Bio

Lesley Pritikin (Marketing/Education Manager) is a successful, strategic marketing professional and scientific editor with a degree in Education (science, teaching and mentoring were her first loves). Decades ago, she moved from Chicago to Italy, and has continued navigating between both continents. Her food gardening adventure began by pure chance. As an amateur chef obsessed with health and nutrition, she spent a lot of time with organic farmer friends in Italy (organic olive oil and wine producers and growers of antique grains). One day, while at a garden store in Rome, someone suggested she become an urban farmer herself. She started out very small, buying only one pepper plant, and then went “food gardening crazy” as she likes to say. While on forced lockdown in Rome, during the first days of the COVID pandemic, she dreamed up a Growing Tips blog for first-time food gardeners and proposed the idea to Estelle Carol, one of DRPs founders and her dear friend and business partner in various creative projects. Estelle made her an offer she couldn’t refuse and asked her to join DRP as Marketing/Education Director. Lesley hopes to have the new blog and numerous educational events ready before the end of 2020. She hopes that Deep Roots’ supporters will send her a personal email to let her know what they think about the blog, videos, and new web content (l.pritikin[at]yahoo.com).
