Edible Gardening Checklist for Success and Q&A

  • Estelle's Garden 323 South East Avenue Oak Park, IL, 60302 United States (map)

Deep Roots edible gardening methods in review

It’s time to share our lessons learned this edible gardening season (and previous seasons too). Bring your gardening questions, discoveries, successes, mistakes and experiences.

We will review the Deep Roots edible garden checklist for success.

Our goal is to make garden both fun and efficient. We are always thinking of new ways to save time and money. Many members of the Deep Roots community like to learn edible gardening by trying out new methods and tweaking old ones.

Bring your gardening stories and questions.

Everyone is welcome no matter what your garden experience. Our gardening mentors would appreciate knowing some of your questions ahead of the workshop so they can prepare the best answers. Feel free to bring new edible gardening methods you have tried or recently discovered from friends or research. What topics we discuss will depend on the interests of the participants.

Stay for snacks and networking at 4pm

After the workshop ends around 4pm every is welcome to stay for snacks and networking. Bring food from your garden or your favorite snacks. We will hold the discussion inside Estelle’s house if it rains or is very hot.

Some possible topics we will cover include:

  • Crop planning and season extension

  • Composting

  • Fall gardening tips

  • Favorite veggies

  • Fertilizing organically
