The Oak Park Farmers' Market is turning 50—and Deep Roots Project will be there to celebrate on opening day!
We’re thrilled to invite all Deep Roots gardeners, neighbors, and friends to join us on Saturday, May 17, 2025, for the first day of the season at the Oak Park Farmers’ Market. Normally all the booths are vendor farmers. Nonprofits like Deep Roots are invited to have a booth on the first 2 Saturdays. You’ll find us at our booth bright and early, sharing gardening tips, answering questions, and spreading the joy of growing your own food.
Where & When?
The market is every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., May 17 through October 25, in the Pilgrim Church parking lot, 460 Lake St., just 2 blocks west of Ridgeland. Bonus: there’s free parking across the street at Oak Park River Forest High School.
What You’ll Find at Our Booth
We’ll be there with information about everything you need to kick off or continue your food-growing journey. More details are on our website:
• Our core method: Learn how our science-backed, organic, and beginner-friendly approach makes kitchen gardening easy, successful, and deeply satisfying.
• Raised beds that last: Our handcrafted cedar beds and planters are not only beautiful—they’re tough enough to withstand Chicago winters and smartly designed for maximum growing success.
• Compost & worm castings: Discover why we only use 100% microbe- and nutrient-rich compost (no fillers, no topsoil blends) instead of soil and top-quality worm castings as nature’s fertilizer that bring your soil to life.
• Coaching & community: From our educational blog posts to personalized advice, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Whether you’re growing kale, tomatoes, herbs, or strawberries—we’ll help you grow them better, smarter, and more joyfully.
