Use this page to order in bulk - 27 cubic feet or more. There are two prices for bulk deliveries:

$6 per cubic foot delivery is in ONE PILE in an alley, a driveway or parkway. It’s best if a tarp goes under the pile. You move the compost to your beds yourself.

$7 per cubic foot delivery is wheel barrelled from our truck to your yard. We dump the compost in your raised bed(s) or in 3 piles around your yard. If you need additional spreading of compost see our extra labor order page.

Minimum bulk order is 27 cu ft (one cubic yard).

If you need less than 27 cubic feet: Order in cubic foot bags without delivery here.

DELIVERY CHARGES:

Delivery is $50 for small orders: We charge $50 per delivery in Oak Park and surrounding area for small bulk orders of 27 to 53 cu ft.

FREE delivery for large bulk orders: Delivery is free for bulk orders 54 cubic feet and larger. Ask about special prices and delivery schedules for bulk orders over 140 cu ft.

Distance Charges: We add a distance fee for locations outside a 5 mile radius of Oak Park.

After consulting with customer support, pay for your delivery charge separately here.

Delivery schedule varies seasonally: No deliveries between November 15 and February 28. Get your delivery faster in spring and fall when we get lots of orders.

Our compost is made from 100% organic matter (plant waste and animal manure). It is weed-free and pathogen-free. It is made with a naturally generated high heat process that boosts heat-loving microbe populations that make more nutrients available to microbes, fungi and plants. Microbe-Rich Compost is certifiedfor food production by Organic Materials Research Institute (OMRI) and by the U.S. Composting Council.

3 ways to use our microbe-rich compost:

  1. Spread a 2-inch layer of compost over the growing medium in your raised beds and containers in fall or spring before planting starts.

  2. Use a mixture of half and half compost and worm castings when planting seedlings and seeds through the season. A cup of the mixture will work fine. Adding more will improve the health of your plants. Definitely add more if you are planting in conventional soil and not in our Deep Roots growing medium.

  3. When seedlings reach about 4 inches tall, use the compost as a “mulch” to protect the growing medium from sunlight and evaporation.

“No Till No Dig” system: Avoid any digging except for a seedling hole or a furrow for planting seeds. Although traditional farmers and gardeners turn over their soil every season, modern soil scientists now know that digging destroys the soil structures that build up over time which greatly harms the health of the soil. Think of soil structures as invisible towns and cities that the microflora lives in.
